Submit Your Public Comment

We’ll Help You Put It in Writing

When the Forest Service opens the public comment period for the Blue Mountains Forest Plan Revision DEIS, this tool will help you turn your own experience into a clear public comment.

Strong comments explain what area you care about, how you use it, how the plan may affect you, and what you want the Forest Service to reconsider or change.

FAFA does not submit comments for you. The tool helps organize your words, but you stay in control of the final comment from start to finish.

How This Works

  1. Answer a few questions about the area, use, concern, and requested change.

  2. Review a draft written from your own answers.

  3. Edit anything you want.

  4. Copy your final comment.

  5. Paste it into the Forest Service’s official CARA comment system and submit it under your name.

What Makes A Strong Comment

A strong comment usually includes:

  • the specific area, road, trail, watershed, or part of the forest you care about

  • how you personally use or access that area

  • what part of the plan concerns you

  • how the change may affect you, your family, your work, or your community

  • what you want the Forest Service to do differently

You do not need legal language. You just need to be clear, specific, and honest.

Important Notes

This tool provides writing assistance only.

All comments reflect the views of the person submitting them.

FAFA does not collect or submit comments on your behalf.

Before submitting, read your final comment carefully and remove anything that does not reflect your own experience or views.

To be counted, comments must be submitted through the Forest Service’s official comment system during the open comment period.
